Skincare increasingly speaks the language of medicine. Skin, Unfiltered examines what products promise, what the evidence supports and whether the difference matters.
Written for anyone who wants to understand what their skin needs—from a first routine through perimenopause and beyond.
It began with lip protection. Today, the edit extends to skincare, body care and fitness.
The editor
Skin, Unfiltered is written and edited by Regina Duke, the writer behind UNCAGED. In 2017, Regina underwent Mohs surgery for squamous cell carcinoma on her lip. Sun protection is personal.
She has used every product featured here. Personal experience informs her judgment; it does not substitute for evidence.
The rules
- Every verdict names its sources, including brand information, retailer listings and product labels.
- Personal use is identified separately from clinical testing.
- A commission never decides a verdict.
- Medical questions belong with a dermatologist or the appropriate clinician.
